Grace To Granite is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to empowering Christian missions and humanitarian organizations with scientific insights into physical, social, and economic landscapes. Through advanced GIS mapping, environmental analysis, and geologic assessment, we transform complex data into actionable intelligence that drives effective decision-making and sustainable community development across God’s Kingdom.
Our data-driven approach bridges the gap between scientific expertise and compassionate service, enabling organizations to maximize their impact and foster meaningful outreach. President – Steve Carlson
After receiving his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Geology from Baylor University and the University of Arkansas, Steve worked for 25 years as a geologist at Marathon Oil. This career refined his love of Geology and provided many tools that he now hopes to utilize by serving others in Houston and around the world. Steve will serve as the president and primary technical contributor for Grace to Granite. Steve and his family live in Bellaire, Texas and attend South Main Baptist Church where a fellowship of believers helps them receive God’s grace and look for ways to share it.

Secretary – Ryan Stepler
Ryan Stepler holds a B.S. in Geology from the University of Georgia and an M.S. in Geophysics from the University of Oklahoma. He has worked in the oil and gas industry for more than 23 years, beginning his career with Marathon Oil before moving to Hess and, most recently, Murphy Oil.
Throughout his career, Ryan has been motivated by the opportunity for his technical contributions to make a positive difference in the communities and countries where his projects are located. Ryan lives in Houston, Texas, with his family and attends Memorial Drive United Methodist Church. His first experience with international mission work came through a Living Water trip to Nicaragua, which sparked a lasting desire to become more involved in international missions and service.
